W. H. Auden (1907 – 1973) was an English poet. He moved to the US and became an America citizen in 1946. Although he is best known for love poems, he also wrote poetry about political and social issues, and with cultural, psychological and religious themes. This verse is found in Finding Flow: The Psychology of Engagement with Everyday Life, a book by Mihaly Csikszentmihaly.
